It's a rite of spring, the Madden football cover vote. For all of us nerds that love to mash away at XBOX buttons, with cheese curl residue on our fingers, this is an exciting time. This year EA Sports bracket has two sides, one with legendary players such as Jerry Rice, Dan Marino, and for some reason Jake Delhomme. On the other side they have current NFL players such as A.J. Green, Rob Gronkowski and Boston College's own Luke Kuechly.
The NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year comes in as a 12 seed and has drawn Super Bowl Champion running back Ray Rice. If Kuechly can pull off the upset he would face the winner of the Dez Bryant/C.J. Spiller matchup.
If Kuechly could somehow win this he would be the second ACC alum in a row to win the award following Calvin Johnson last year. Fellow Boston College alum Matt Ryan was in the bracket last year, but lost to Drew Brees in the opening round.
Voting started today, and I have no idea how many times you can vote in a day, but I would encourage you to head over and vote as much as possible. However if you believe in the silly Madden Curse you will want to avoid voting for Kuechly at all costs.
