York and the Eagles hockey program landed its second verbal commitment in as many days from '94 forward Zach Sanford on Thursday. He is expected to join the program for the 2014-15 season.
The Auburn, New Hampshire native currently plays for the Eastern Junior Hockey League's Islanders Hockey Club. In 37 games this season with the Islanders, the 6-foot-3 forward has tallied 36 points (12 goals, 24 assists). Before playing in the EJHL, Sanford helped Pinkerton Academy win the 2012 Division I ice hockey championship. He was among the players listed on the NHL Central Scouting Bureau's mid-term rankings, finishing 83rd among North American skaters.
Sanford is set to join forwards Joey Dudek, Tanner MacMaster (or 2015), Matthew #GaudreaubeyBaker and Alex Tuch in the 2014 recruiting class. York has really outdone himself on the recruiting trail in the coming years, putting together some of the deepest and most talented recruiting classes yet.
