Boston College Daily Links: National Signing Day 2013 News And Notes

Happy National Signing Day everyone!

Mark L. Baer-US PRESSWIRE

Now that Tyler Rouse is going to Boston College, did Syracuse make a mistake? (syracuse.com)
With Staten Island running back Augustus Edwards backing out of his commitment to sign with Syracuse, why didn't the Orange make a push to sign Rouse? Should they? Will they come to regret it? Did they, and everyone else but Boston College, see something that undercut his remarkable football career at Baldwsinville?

SIGNING DAY PROFILES: Kevin Kavalec (Saint Ignatius Eye)
One of the most dominating defensive lineman in the state of Ohio in the years 2011 and 2012 will be on his way to the Atlantic Coast Conference. Kavalec, who was a two-time first teamer on the AP All-District squad and a two timer on the All-Ohio team, also was a captain on the 2012 Saint Ignatius Wildcats. Kavalec has been a wrecking ball coming off the edge as a defensive end, as the big man was known for putting pressure on every single quarterback he laid his eyes upon for the Wildcats.

College recruiting: Manchester's Marquis Little to play at BC as linebacker (Courant.com)
"We're on the bus after the Conard game," Little said. "We had our phones on, and it's going back and forth between BC and Maryland. BC wins [20-17], and Andrew is like, 'Well, injuries,' and making all kinds of excuses.' I told him, 'A win is a win.' We talk about the next BC-Maryland game. He says, 'I can't guard him.' And I come back that, 'My speed will win out.' We're always cracking jokes. We can do that. We've been family here at Manchester."

Lucky 13 for Team USA’s Montgomery (USA Football)
"A lot of people have helped me out, made my life a lot easier than how it may sound," Montgomery said. "I’ve gotten a lot of help becoming a better football player, a better student, a better person. I’m going to make the most of what I can with it."
