Hold off on that Demko for Hobey campaign.
According to The Boston College Hockey Blog, junior Brian Billett (Brunswick, Me.) has been named the starting goalie for Thursday night's season opener in Michigan.
I would personally still probably expect to see Thatcher Demko on Sunday and see these two split time until someone emerges, but it looks like Billett will be given the first crack at making that statement.
Billett has appeared in 10 games for Boston College over his first two seasons. In his freshman year, he went 3-4-1, including a 40-save performance in a victory over Boston University at Agganis Arena. He posted a 2.66 GAA and .907 save percentage before Parker Milner took the reins as the starter for the 2011-12 stretch run.
Billett made two appearances last year, starting a losing a tough game in Maine, and coming in in relief during the Eagles' blowout loss at Minnesota.
