Former Boston College forward Gerry Ward was named the school's rep to this year's ACC Tournament Legends Roster. Ward (1961-63) started three seasons for the Eagles as a 6-4 forward, playing his first two years under coach Don Martin and his final year under Frank Power.

He averaged in double figures each year, averaging a then-school record 20.0 points a game as a senior in 1963. His total of 1,116 career points, which still ranks 33rd on the Boston College career scoring list, was the school's third-best career total when he finished his college career. Ward is a member of the Boston College Varsity Hall of Fame and his jersey was retired by Boston College in 2007.

Ward will be honored along with 12 other Legends at this year's ACC's Men's Basketball Tournament at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C., March 14-17. Of course, Ward neither played in the ACC nor participated in the ACC Tournament. Minor detail.

In addition to Ward, former Eagles coach Gary Williams will also be honored. Williams represents the Terps in this years' Legends Class. Ward is the second BC forward to be honored by the conference, joining Terry Driscoll (1967-69). Here's a look at previous honorees in the conference's Legends program.

2006: Dana Barros, guard (1985-89)
2007: Jay Murphy, center (1980-83)
2008: Bill Curley, center (1991-94)
2009: Danya Abrams, guard (1994-97)
2010: Terry Driscoll, forward (1967-69)
2011: Michael Adams, guard (1982-85)
2012: John Bagley, guard (1979-82)
2013: Gerry Ward, forward (1961-63)

Any guesses on BC's 2014 ACC Legends representative? Dibs on Howard Eisley. Over/under how many years until Boston College's ACC Legend actually played in the conference?
