Jerry York Inducted Into Beanpot Hall of Fame (BCEagles.com)
Jerry York of Boston College, who helped lead the Eagles to a Beanpot title as a player in 1965 and coached them to six more from 2001 to 2012, will be inducted into the Beanpot Hall of Fame in ceremonies between games of the first round of the 61st Beanpot Tournament on Monday, February 4, 2012, at the TD Garden.

TMQ: On Quinnipiac, name recognition and the No. 1 ranking (USCHO.com)
You want to keep saying, "It’s BC. They’ve been through this before. They’ll be there at the end." After all, the Eagles were not good at one point last season, too. But the challenges are different this season, including the defensive depth you mentioned. I still think it would be a mistake for anyone to count them out but there are definitely issues to be addressed. No better time than after being swept at home by last-place Maine, right?

This Team is Soft (Around The Res)
How many times did UNC get an offensive board last night because no one bothered to box out? Out many times did UNC beat us to lose balls? I've never seen BC play this soft and it really bothers me. These guys simply aren't living up to the toughness displayed by guys like Marshall, Dudley, and Rice.

ACC Freshman Watch, Jan. 29 (ACC Sports Journal)
The Canadian point guard won ACC Rookie of the Week in back to back weeks and had a four-game stretch in which he averaged 17.5 points, 4.25 assists and 6.0 rebounds. Hanlan cooled off slightly against a tough defense in Charlottesville, but he could be poised for a big bounce-back game against UNC and its less-than-stellar perimeter defense. Either way, Hanlan’s quickly blossoming into a star in Chestnut Hill.

Kristin Igoe Named to US Women's National Team (BCEagles.com)
Igoe made the 18-player roster after competing with the team's 25-player training roster at the Champion Challenge in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., from Jan. 25-27. The team went 3-0 at the event against Northwestern, Syracuse, and the English women's national team.

Getting to know… John Wetzel (IMG Academy)
Boston College left-tackle, John Wetzel, follows a line of players from BC who trained at IMG Academy to get prepared for the draft. Last year, LB Luke Kuechly went 9th overall in the 2012 NFL Draft, and OL Anthony Castanzo went 22nd overall in the 2011 NFL Draft. Wetzel has been here for nearly two weeks, and we were able to catch up with him to see how his time has been so far, learn more about his twin brother and how he once broke a backboard in high-school.
