Syracuse Tight End Louie Addazio To Transfer To Boston College

Name sounds familiar doesn't it?

Rob Christy-US PRESSWIRE

Steve Addazio picked up his first transfer of the offseason, and it is someone he knows well, it's his son. Syracuse tight end Louie Addazio will be joining Boston College and his father , but will have to sit out the upcoming season due to transfer rules.

Louie Addazio was a two star tight end and fell in love with Syracuse when his father worked under then head coach Paul Pasqualoni. He had held offers from South Florida and Akron as well. Mainly a blocking tight end, Louie has had a rough going so far with the Orange, and has been bit by the injury bug constantly.

The shoulder problems continued after Addazio arrived at Syracuse in January 2011 and cost him the last two seasons. He had additional surgery his true freshman year and did not even report to preseason camp this year until it was almost over. He spent the entire season doing conditioning work on the side. Syracuse Blog Troy Nunes Is An Absolute Magician breaks down Addazio's strengths

He's a big tight end who can catch well and from all accounts is very blocking oriented, so he should fit in well once healthy. It is unclear how much he'll play as a true freshman.

And Rivals scouting report:

Has a quick burst off the line of scrimmage, keeps his butt low and legs shoulder-width apart and really drives with his lower body to blow defenders off the ball.

Not going to complain here, but BC has plenty of depth at tight end. Mike Giacone, Jarrett Darmstatter, and C.J. Parsons for the foreseeable future. Obviously father Addazio is going to look out for his own son, but right now BC has a lot of other holes that need to be addressed. Hopefully Steve Addazio has answers coming up soon. Welcome to the Heights Louie!
