Silas Spearman, a 5-foot-9, 195 pound running back from Loxahatchee, Florida, has become one of the main targets for Coach Addazio and the Eagles as the program looks to complete the 2013 class. The shifty, speedy running back rushed for 1,258 yards and 12 TDs during his senior year at Seminole Ridge HS.
Spearman was on campus this past weekend on an official visit and is hopeful that he'll receive an offer. Despite Rivals, ESPN and 247 Sports all reporting that he has an official offer from Boston College, there seems to be a bit of a snag in the process.

Hopefully the school is able to clear Spearman soon as interest is heating up in the Florida running back with less that two weeks to go before National Signing Day. In addition to BC, Florida Atlantic, USF and UConn have shown interest in the back, with the Bulls' coaching staff paying him a visit on Tuesday. The Florida RB came onto the Eagles' radar after Addazio hired Connecticut defensive coordinator Don Brown, who was recruiting him for the Huskies.
Spearman had good things to say about Boston College and the program.
"You know, it’s a great school from an educational standpoint and I will be able to compete in the ACC," Spearman said, "so if everything goes well, I think I have a big decision to make."
