SB Nation BlogPoll College Football Rankings 2011
Our week 1 ballot is here.
The Crimson Tide are a near unanimous No. 1 this week, jumping preseason number 1 USC. This caused certain portions of the internet to freak the eff out, forcing former AP voters to say stupid things like the week 1 poll has already created controversy. Alabama jumping USC isn't a controversy because it's WEEK 1. Further:
USC wins by 39 points and DROPS In the AP rankings. Hate to see what happens to Ok State if it doesn't beat Arizona by at least 84 on Sat

Fair is fair. If Bama doesn't beat WKy by 40, Tide is going to drop. Count on it

Pretty sure he's just saying things for shock value at this point.
Florida State sneaks into the Top 5 this week and is the highest ranked ACC team in the poll. Clemson gives the conference its second team ranked in the top 10. Virginia Tech is the third and final ACC team ranked this week, coming in at No. 16. Two fringe Top 25 programs from the ACC -- Georgia Tech and N.C. State -- drop following week 1 losses.
Also from the ACC, North Carolina, Miami and Duke (!) also received votes.
Someone even voted for Connecticut following the Huskies' 37-0 pasting of UMass, as the two long-standing geographic rivals renewed hostilities. Multiple voters, in fact, and none of them The UConn Blog. How about that.
