That would be Dallas, Texas in the 1940 Cotton Bowl. 15,000 fans packed the Cotton Bowl to watch the 8-1 Tigers knock off the 9-1 Eagles 6-3. All participants got this question right.
What is the name of the trophy awarded to the winner of the Boston College-Clemson game?
The O'Rourke-McFadden Trophy, created in 2008 by the Boston College Gridiron Club and presented to the annual winner in the ACC Atlantic Division series. The trophy honors the legacy of Charlie O'Rourke and Banks McFadden. Clemson has won the trophy three out of four seasons, including last year's 36-24 win over the Eagles. Again, everyone got this one right.
Who scored the GW TD in the first ACC meeting between the two teams?
On second and Toal in the first OT, Boston College linebacker Brian Toal took the ball over the goalline on a 1-yard TD run to cap a 16-13 overtime victory over Clemson in Death Valley. The win was BC's first in the ACC after falling to Florida State in the 2005 home opener.
Which Boston College receiver caught the GW TD in the 2007 victory in Death Valley?
Rich Gunnell, the Eagles wide out on the receiving end of a 43-yard TD pass from QB Matt Ryan with 1:46 to play in the game. The win gave the Eagles their first berth in the ACC Championship Game.
