UConn Soccer Defeats Boston College 2-0

It hasn't been the fastest of starts for the Boston College men's soccer team.

The Eagles dropped a 2-0 decision to the no. 2 UConn Huskies on Wednesday night at Morrone Stadium. The match was originally scheduled for Tuesday night but was moved back a day due to storms in the area. BC falls to 2-3-1 overall and hasn't notched a victory since September 3 at Fairfield.

UConn opened the scoring in the 11th minute on a goal from Mamadou Diouf. Diouf scored his second goal of the match in the 74th minute on a penalty kick after the Eagles were whistled for a handball in the box.

Despite outshooting the Huskies 9-7, the Eagles dropped their third straight game to the Huskies -- all by a score of 2-0. Boston College last defeated UConn during their last season in the Big East, a 1-0 victory in the 2004 NCAA Tournament.

BC returns home to host the San Francisco Dons Saturday on Newton Campus. Game time is 1 PM.
