After catching a career high 25 balls for 366 yards through the first three games of the season, junior wide receiver Alex Amidon has been added to the Biletnikoff watch list.

The Fred Biletnikoff Award is given annually to the nation's top college wide receiver by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation. The award has been around since 1994. Georgia Tech's Calvin Johnson (2006) is the only ACC player to have ever won the award.

So far this season, Amidon leads the ACC with 25 catches and 366 receiving yards. He ranks fourth in the country in receiving yards per game with 122.0 yards per game. This past Saturday, Amidon registered game-highs for receptions (nine) and receiving yards (118) in the loss at Northwestern. In the opener against Miami, he set single-game career highs in both receptions (10) and yards (149).

Amidon joins TE Chris Pantale and LB Kevin Pierre-Louis, on the John Mackey and Bronko Nagurski watch lists respectively, as the only current Boston College Eagles on 2012 award watch lists.

The Biletnikoff Award watch list will be pared down to ten semifinalists on November 12. After another vote, three finalists will be declared on November 19. The 2012 award winner will be presented live on December 6, 2012, on The Home Depot College Football Awards Show from 7:30 - 9:30pm on ESPN.
