The Boston College football program added another defensive back to the Class of 2013 in Virginia DB Atem Ntantang. The 5-foot-11, 185 pounder plays both running back and defensive back for Purcellville's Woodgrove High School. Ntantang chooses BC over claimed offers from Yale, Georgetown and Columbia.
While the rising senior plays both running back and defensive back, Ntantang has been recruited as a defensive back. This season he'll transition from running back to cornerback / slot receiver. Ntantang, the first player to score a touchdown for Woodgrove, becomes the first player to earn a Division I-A scholarship offer.
"Personally, it means a lot, because I've been able to be a part of a lot of firsts here, and this is another huge step for our program," Ntantang said. "To be the first football player to sign D-1, it's just incredible. I'm sure there are going to be more to come, but someone has to be first."
The Loudon Valley region of Virginia is also the home of Boston College safety Spenser Rositano and incoming freshman wide out Harrison Jackson. Ntantang is the third defensive back in the Class of 2013, joining Orlando's Matt Milano and Hyattsville, Maryland's John Johnson. Welcome to the Heights Atem!
