Boston College Football Recruiting: Eagles Receive Commitment From DE Truman Gutapfel

The Boston College football staff continues its torrid pace on the recruiting trail, receiving a commitment from Ohio defensive end Truman Gutapfel. Gutapfel is their second commitment in less than a week. According to his Scout.com profile, the 6-foot-2, 250 pound defensive tackle registered 63 tackles in his junior year at Harrison High School. He has no other offers and Boston College was the first team to offer him a scholarship for the 2013 season. According to reports Truman had received interest from a bevy of MAC schools and Cincinnati.

BC is apparently just recruiting in Ohio and Connecticut as Gutapfel is the sixth recruit to come from the Buckeye State (the others being LeShun Daniels, Michael Geiger, Kevin Kavalec, Dan Monteroso, and Joel Rich). Whatever the case, BC now has 12 recruits committed for the 2013 season. The next appears to be Myles Willis, an Atlanta ATH who is currently committed to UCF but may switch to BC by the end of the week. Stay tuned to see what he chooses.
