Boston College Football Recruiting: Eagles Miss Out On Trey Kilgore, But Land RB LeShun Daniels

It has been a busy day for Boston College recruiting, with both positive news and a near miss for the coaching staff coming today. First let's start with the not so good news. Trey Kilgore, who had BC as a finalist, decided to play for Mark D'Antonio in 2013 and has committed to Michigan State.

Via SB Nation Detroit:

Kilgore is a consensus three-star recruit. On Rivals, he is ranked 89th at his position and 51st in the state of Ohio. Scout has him lower at No. 122 at wide receiver, and 24/7 Sports has him at No. 143.

According to Rivals, Kilgore holds offers from Michigan State, Boston College, Cincinnati, Iowa, Kentucky and several MAC schools.

It would have been nice to have him, but with BC listed after MSU and Iowa, the chances weren't of landing him weren't all that great. Well best of luck with the Spartans, Trey.

Now on to the good news, BC did receive their ninth commit for the 2013 class from Ohio RB LeShun Daniels. The Warren G. Harding HS (Warren, OH) running back, clocks in at 6'0 and 220 lbs.

Daniels runs a 4.6 40, bench 340lbs and squats 540. Sounds like a bruiser. Daniels had offers from Ohio and Bowling Green, and was a consensus 2 star running back. He is the second running back in the class, joining Josh Tapscott who committed earlier this month.

This has been a very exciting summer for Boston College recruiting, and we will of course pass along and news as soon as we here it.
