Boston College Football Recruiting: Eagles Receive Verbal Commitment From DE Kevin Kavalec

It has been a busy week for Boston College, as the Eagles received their second commitment for the 2013 recruiting class. Earlier this week Connecticut LB Cory Jasudowich gave his word to Mike Siravo that he would be playing for the Eagles. Last night all of the recruiting services were blowing up with word that Ohio DE/TE Kevin Kavalec had committed to play for Boston College.

As we have mentioned numerous times, the defensive line has been a major area of concern for the Eagles. You have to imagine the Eagles are going to try and load up on this position to try and bulk up a very thin position. The recruiting services have him listed as a tight end as well, but you have to imagine with the depth BC has at TE that they recruited him for the defensive side of the ball.

Kavalec isn't a highly rated recruit, as he isn't rated by any of the big three recruiting sites, nor has he been heavily recruited, only receiving an offer from the Ohio Bobcats. But at this point BC needs to build depth at this position, and reports said that Kavalec had a fantastic camp when he visited BC earlier this month.

So that gives BC seven committed recruits that we know about (if you look at Al Washington's facebook page, he has 8), which is a great sign that Spaz's recruiters are hard at work to fill the many holes this team has. And if you believe what you read on the interwebs, there may be more kids coming down the pipeline soon.

(I will post his highlight videos as soon as I can, there seems to be a problem with youtube right now and my computer)

Welcome to the Heights Kevin!
