Several future Boston College hockey skaters figure to be selected during the 2012 NHL Draft this Friday and Saturday at Pittsburgh's CONSOL Energy Center. The final NHL Central Scouting rankings for 2012 feature a total of 88 players currently in college or committed to a school. Five of those 88 players are committed to play for York and the Eagles.

Incoming freshman blueliner Michael Matheson (USHL's Dubuque Fighting Saints) could be selected in the first round this weekend, ranked as the 30th best skater in this year's 2012 NHL Draft. Matheson's future classmates Frank Vatrano (#88) and Travis Jeke (#184) are also ranked in the Central Scouting service's final rankings.

Members of the 2013-14 recruiting class, Nobles linemates Chris Calnan (69) and Adam Gilmour (101) are also ranked.

Across Hockey East, Boston University leads the conference with a total of nine players (eight skaters, one goalie) ranked going into this weekend's NHL Draft. Maine has five players ranked, Providence three, Northeastern two and Merrimack and Vermont have one each.

The 50th NHL Draft is on TV starting at 7 p.m. ET on Friday (NBC Sports Network) and 10 a.m. ET on Saturday (NHL Network).
