NCAA Honors 10 Boston College Teams For APR Scores

On Thursday, the NCAA honored 58 ACC teams across 26 sports for academic achievement.

Boston College finished second in the conference, with 10 Public Recognition Awards, given to teams ranked in the top 10 percent in each sports' Academic Progress Rate. APR scores were based on scores from the 2007-08 to 2010-11 years.

The ACC was the only major conference to have at least one team from each school honored and the only BCS conference with three football teams honored (Duke, Clemson and Miami). Of the six major conferences, the ACC's 58 programs was bested by only the Big East with 72. The Big Ten finished third with 42 programs, the SEC fourth with 26 and the Big 12 and Pac-12 tied for fifth with 25. ACCademics!

The Eagles programs honored were men's golf, outdoor track, skiing and swimming, and women's softball, ice hockey, indoor track, lacrosse, outdoor track and swimming. Worth noting that football, men's basketball and men's ice hockey all didn't make the list of honorees this year.

Full APR scores for all programs will be released on June 20.
