Hockey Alum

Chris Kreider, New York Rangers left wing, not rattled by benching (NYPOST.com)
"I was still extremely engaged and ready to go if he called [my] name," Kreider said. "At the same time, I’m trying to soak everything in, and anytime you can sit back and watch, you’re gonna learn something."

"For all our kids, there's going to be bumps in the road," coach John Tortorella said Sunday. "[Kreider's] is more magnified because it's right in the middle of the playoffs, but I have full confidence that he's going to be able to handle that, learn from a couple mistakes and be better for it. He's got a good head on his shoulders. It's some struggles away from the puck for him. Sometimes it's good to watch [from the bench]. So we'll see where we go with it next game."

Biddeford hockey alum brings skills to NHL (Portland Daily Sun)
"The community has really taken tremendous pride in Brian because he does things the right way and they recognize and appreciate when good things happen to good people. Brian comes from an extremely strong family background. He epitomizes the story of Biddeford, coming from a small town and a close family," Gagnon said.

WIH to Draft Brooke DiBona Monday (BCEagles.com)
Months removed from making a second consecutive appearance at the NCAA Frozen Four, the Boston College women’s ice hockey team will add another pillar to the program when it drafts Brooke DiBona on Monday, May 7. The occasion will officially begin the Eagles’ commitment to Team IMPACT, a non-profit organization aimed at improving the quality of life for children facing life-threatening illnesses.

Panthers 2012 Draft Pick Profile: LB Luke Kuechly (Cat Scratch Reader)
At the moment it seems like a value pick getting the best LB at #9 overall. I think in time the value will only grow as he becomes a Pro Bowl quality player. Kuechy in many ways brings more value to the Panthers than Von Miller did the Broncos being selected #2 overall last season. So at worst Kuechly was selected at the right pick based on his ratings.

Men's Basketball Honors Announced (BCEagles.com)
Freshman forward Ryan Anderson earned team MVP honors and senior forward Peter Rehnquist captured the Frank Power Memorial Award, highlighting the program's year-end Roundball Club Banquet. The event was held in the Shea Room on the Boston College campus.
