Boston College Athletics announced the start times for the first two games of the year against Miami and Maine. And wait for it, one is on a major network and not at noon!
Boston College will kick off its 2012 season at home against Miami on Sept. 1 at 3:30 p.m. and will host Maine, its opponent in week two, on Sept. 8 at 1 p.m., according to an announcement made by the Atlantic Coast Conference on Thursday.
The Sept. 1 game between the Eagles and Hurricanes will be televised nationally on ESPN2 and regionally on ABC.
Boston College and Maine on Sept. 8 will be carried exclusively by ESPN3, the web-streaming platform which is now available in more than 73 million homes.
No surprise that the Maine game will be exclusively on ESPN3, but a BC game again on ABC -- even if it is only regional -- and at 3:30? We already know the Army game is going to be at noon on the CBS Sports Network, which now makes three games scheduled and ready for television. That is great news for the Eagles! This could be a huge opportunity for BC to show off their revamped Doug Martin offense, and that they can compete in the ACC.
Embattled head coach Frank Spaziani will be put on a national stage. How will he response?
