Inside College Hockey named Boston College freshman forward Johnny Gaudreau (Calgary Flames) to their 2011-12 Freshman All-American team Sunday night while Brian Dumoulin (Carolina Hurricanes) was named to their All-American first team.
Gaudreau finished the year as the nation's highest-scoring freshman, tallying 21 goals and 23 assists in 44 games this season. The talented freshman really turned it on during the Eagles 19-game win streak, netting 14 goals and 14 assists over the team's final 20 games. Also, this:
Dumoulin was named an INCH first-team All-American for the second consecutive season. Dumoulin had five fewer points than one year ago but scored four more goals and, more importantly, helped the Eagles to the national championship for the second time in his career. In BC's 33 wins, he had an impressive plus-minus rating of +36.
Gaudreau is joined by UMass-Lowell's Scott Wilson on the INCH Freshman All-American first team, while Maine's Spencer Abbott joined Dumoulin on the All-American first-team.
