The Boston College Eagles men's ice hockey team is 9-1 in NCAA Tournament first-round action under the man, the myth, the legend Jerry York.

Here's the list:

W - Boston College 2, Northern Michigan 1 (March 27, 1999)
W - Boston College 6, Michigan State 5 (March 24, 2000)
W - Boston College 1, Ohio State 0 (March 29, 2003)
W - Boston College 5, Niagara 2 (March 27, 2004)
W - Boston College 5, Mercyhurst 4 (March 25, 2005)
W - Boston College 5, Miami 0 (March 24, 2006)
W - Boston College 4, St. Lawrence 1 (March 24, 2007)
W - Boston College 5, Minnesota 2 (March 29, 2008)
W - Boston College 3, Alaska-Fairbanks 1 (March 27, 2010)
L - Colorado College 8, Boston College 4 (March 25, 2011)

In addition, back when the NCAA Tournament field was just 12 teams, BC received first-round byes in 1998 and 2001 before defeating their quarterfinal opponents:

W - Boston College 6, Colorado College 1 (March 29, 1998)
W - Boston College 3, Maine 1 (March 24, 2001)

York has owned the NCAAs first-round, particularly when the Eagles get to play the Regional round in Worcester's DCU Center. The Eagles return to Worcester for the sixth time since 2000-01, where BC has compiled a record of 8-1 over that span. Boston College has dispatched Maine (2001), Mercyhurst (2005), Miami (2006), Boston University (2006), Minnesota (2008), Miami (2008), Alaska-Fairbanks (2010) and Yale (2010) in Worcester, suffering their lone DCU Center loss to North Dakota in 2005.

All three of BC's National Championships under Coach York have begun in regional play in Worcester.

York and the boys will look to make it 10-1 in both the NCAAs first round and in regional play at the DCU Center since 2000-01 this weekend against Air Force and (hopefully) the Minnesota-Duluth / Maine winner.

Go Eagles!
