Hockey East Tournament 2012: Semifinal Pairings Set

Maine held on to defeat Merrimack in game 3 of their Hockey East Quarterfinals series and will join the Eagles, Friars and Terriers at the Garden this Friday. Here are the pairings:

No. 1 Boston College Eagles (27-10-1, 19-7-1 HEA) vs. No. 7 Providence Friars (14-19-4, 10-14-3 HEA)
No. 3 Boston University Terriers (23-13-1, 17-9-1 HEA) vs. No. 4 Maine Black Bears (22-12-3, 15-10-2 HEA)

The Eagles-Friars game will be the first of the two semifinals games to be played on Friday. Faceoff is at 5 PM. The second semifinal between Maine and BU will start at approximately 8 PM. Saturday's championship game is an 8 PM start. Both semifinals and Saturday's championship game will be televised on NESN and NBC Sports Network.

Tickets for the 2012 Hockey East Championship are still available at the TD Garden box office, by calling 1-800-745- 3000 or visiting www.ticketmaster.com. Ticket prices are $17 and $25 for balcony seats and $30, 37 and $39 per seat in the loge and club sections. Student tickets (located in the upper balcony) are available for $10 when showing a valid student ID, either on campus or at the TD Garden Box Office. Groups of 15 or more are also eligible for a $5 discount on the $17 balcony seats. All discounted tickets must be purchased at the TD Garden Box Office. Discounted tickets will not be available via phone or internet sales through Ticketmaster. Tickets will be available on the campuses beginning on Monday, March 12th.
