National Signing Day, Boston College Recruiting: LB Bobby Wolford

Part of BC Interruption's National Signing Day Coverage.

Bobby Wolford
Hometown: Jacksonville, Florida
High School: Bishop Kenney
Position: Inside Linebacker
Height: 6-3
Weight: 232 lbs
Bench Max: 350
Squat Max: 490
40: 4.66
Shuttle: 4.37

Rankings: Rivals 3*, Scout 3* (position 61), ESPN 3* (rated a 78, position 70, regional 292, state 102), 247 Sports 3* (position 95, state 126). Selected Boston College over BYU, Harvard, Navy, Princeton, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest. Recruited by Jeff Comissiong

Strengths: Via ESPN: "Wolford is very active demonstrating good production playing the run and pass; shows good playing strength and speed. Has the size and athleticism for the outside linebacker position at the major level of competition. His frame appears capable of adding some body mass over time."

Quotable: "My strength on defense is making plays from sideline-to-sideline," said Wolford, older brother of Class of 2014 QB phenom John Wolford. "My size helps with making plays and I run a 4.37 shuttle, so I'm able to get around the field and I'm good in coverage too."

Realistic Outlook: Wolford is able to anchor the Boston College linebacking corps in the middle, showing off his ability to cover the field from sideline-to-sideline. Wolford also played fullback in high school. First and Wolford, anyone?

Welcome to the Heights, Bobby!
