National Signing Day, Boston College Recruiting: LB Michael Strizak

Part of BC Interruption's National Signing Day Coverage.

Michael Strizak
Hometown: Ramsey, NJ
High School: Don Bosco Prep
Position: Inside Linebacker
Height: 6-2
Weight: 228 lbs
40: 4.6 seconds
Bench Max: 315
Squat Max: 450

Ratings: Rivals 3* (position 23, state 12), ESPN 3* (rated a 76, 39 position, 145 regional, 31 state), Scout 3* (position 38), 247 Sports 3* (rated an 88, position 17, state 15). Also received offers from Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan State, North Carolina, Pittsburgh and Rutgers. Recruited by Bill McGovern.

Strengths: Lemming: "He plays more DE than OLB but might be better suited to play OLB in college. He shows very strong hands, which he uses to jolt blockers backwards, shows decent initial quickness off the ball, always gives good effort when in pursuit, and is a sure tackler. Just a solid blue collar defender who makes few mistakes."

Area of Concern: BC is loaded at linebacker for the foreseeable future.

Quotable: "The fact that Coach (Greg) Toal sent two of his (own) kids up there was a factor," said Strizak. "Brian (Toal) was of the best players in the country and he was real successful, and they have (former Bosco LB) Steele (Divitto) now and that made it a little bit easier."

Optimistic Outlook: Strizak continues the long line of quality linebackers to play on the Heights and seamlessly fills in behind guys like KPL, Duggan, Daniels and Divitto. Strizak also helps to strengthen the Bosco-to-BC pipeline and the Eagles efforts to recruit New Jersey.

Welcome to the Heights, Michael!
