Ratings: Rivals 3* (position 33, state 19), ESPN 3* (rated a 77, 37 position, 98 regional, 21 state), Scout 3* (position 28), 247 Sports 3* (position 51, 36 state). Also received offers from Connecticut, Florida State, Indiana, Maryland, Rutgers, Temple, Tulane, UCF and Wake Forest. Originally committed to Rutgers but switched his commitment after coach Greg Schiano took the vacant Tampa Bay Buccaneers position. Recruited by Bill McGovern.

Strengths: St. Peter's Prep is a run-first team, so Giacone has been used primarily as a blocker. Lemming: "He already blocks like a tackle showing good quickness out of his stance and stays with his blocks until the whistle. Shows very good instincts and an aggressive style of play. Not called on as a receiver as much as he would like but when he is, he shows great hands, runs precise routes, and has proven to be a tough tackle."

Area of Concern: How does Giacone fit into Doug Martin's new offense? Giacone caught just 13 passes for 191 yards and a touchdown last year in the Marauder's run-heavy offense. Can he make the transition to Doug Martin's pass-to-set-up-the-run offense? Or will Martin continue to use Giacone as a reliable blocker?

Optimistic Outlook: Giacone ends up being a solid, reliable blocker in the run game to go with an improved offensive line under Bollman's tutelage. Martin calls on the Eagles TEs to play a larger role in the passing game, and Giacone answers the call with some big plays.

Welcome to the Heights, Michael!
