The Boston College Eagles didn't wait long to fill their head coaching vacancy. According to Sports Illustrated's Pete Thamel, Boston College is set to hire Steve Addazio away from Temple, where he served as the Owls' head coach for the past two seasons.
Addazio led Temple to a 9-4 record in 2011, and guided the Owls to a second-place finish in the Mid-American Conference East division. Temple defeated Wyoming in last year's New Mexico Bowl under Addazio.
Prior to his head coaching position at Temple, Addazio served on the Florida Gators' coaching staff between 2005-10. Addazio has worked his way up from being the offensive line coach to being Florida's offensive coordinator between 2009-10.
Addazio will replace Frank Spaziani as head coach at Boston College. Spaziani was fired on Nov. 25, after going just 21-29 since 2009 as the Eagles' head coach. As BC's permanent head coach between 2009-12, Spaziani led the Eagles to two bowl appearances, losing the Emerald Bowl in 2009 before losing the Fight Hunger Bowl in 2010.
