Nick Clancy And Alex Amidon Named To 2012 All-ACC Team

Congratulations to both on the honor.

Greg M. Cooper-US PRESSWIRE

The post season award season has begun as the Atlantic Coast Conference has named their 2012 All ACC Team. Boston College was represented twice, as wide receiver Alex Amidon, and linebacker Nick Clancy were named to the first team . Amidon finished the season with a school high 78 receptions for 1210 yards and seven touchdowns, while the senior Clancy finished the season third in the country in tackles, finishing the year with 144.

Senior tackle Emmett Cleary was named to the second team, while punter Gerald Levano, and junior linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis were honorable mentions. Too bad Chase Rettig struggled near the end of the season, as he was left off the list completely.

Clemson led all ACC schools with six players, all on offense, while North Carolina and Florida State each had two players apiece. ACC Coastal Champion Georgia Tech, only had one representative on the first team (#goacc).

Even with a 2-10 record, BC had more players represented this year than in 2011 when Luke Kuechly was the only player on the team. In 2010, the Eagles had three players on the first team with Kuechly, Montel Harris and Anthony Castonzo making the team.
