Boston College & Virginia Tech: Final Thoughts And Predictions

Two more weeks to go, two more dreadful games to watch, and finally we can throw our "Frank Spaziani is gone" box social. It will be quite the party. This weekend the Eagles get to face another disappointing team, the Virginia Tech Hokies. It's the final game at Alumni Stadium for the seniors, or what's left of that draft class.

Big Questions

Deuce Finch, can we please get him more than 7 carries Saturday? How many more injuries can this team sustain before it completely collapses on itself? Can BC force Logan Thomas to throw some more of his conference leading interceptions? Speaking of Thomas, will he just run over this defense? What about the BC offense? Can the offensive line prevent the destruction of Chase Rettig? Why is Frank Spaziani still coaching this team?

Lingering Questions

Final game of the season, 2-8 team, will anyone actually show up for this game? Is Spaz just churning out the final eight quarters as quickly as possible so he can start his retirement? Why is anyone still watching this team? Is this the worst BC football team that you can remember? Do players realize that we respect them, any they deserve better?

What To Drink As You Celebrate The Last Home Game Under Spaz:

Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale (via MattHurst) - Hurray! This is it! You have survived four years of poor clock management, losses, awful play calling, losses, roster disasters, losses, and just terrible football. There is no way Brad Bates is bringing him back. So celebrate! As you watch another BC season wasted, just remember it all goes up from here. Next year you will have a coach that is engaging, wants to win, and doesn't spend most of the game forty yards down the field away from the huddle. Grab a Sierra Nevada, and chant "BYE BYE SPAZ", because you will never have to watch him in person again.
