There are only eight teams left standing after last weekend's Wildcard Weekend, and chances are your team is not one of them. So if your team isn't vying for this year's Super Bowl, here's what Boston College fans should consider when watching the games this weekend.
New Orleans Saints at San Francisco 49ers, Saturday, 4:30 p.m. ET on FOX
The Saints currently employ two former Eagles in LB Jo-Lonn Dunbar and OL Matt Tennant. Dunbar played in 16 of the Saints 17 games this year, and got the start in 14 of those contests. This season, Dunbar made 79 stops (57 solo, 22 assists) and registered one sack, six pass deflections and two forced fumbles. Tennant has played in 12 games this season and 28 total in his second season with the Saints. The 49ers feature no former Boston College players. Lean: New Orleans.
Denver Broncos at New England Patriots, Saturday, 8 p.m. ET on CBS
The Patriots feature two former Eagles in Ron Brace and Dan Koppen. Koppen started in just one game this season before fracturing his ankle in a MNF game against the Dolphins. Brace started the season on the "PUP" list but has managed to play in seven games this season, recording four tackles and forcing a fumble.
The Broncos don't have any BC ties on the current roster and they also have Tim Tebow. Lean: New England.
Houston Texans at Baltimore Ravens, Sunday, 1 p.m. ET on CBS
The only player on either team that has any BC ties is Houston's DE Tim Bulman. The fifth year veteran has registered 12 tackles in 10 games this season. Lean: Houston.
New York Giants at Green Bay Packers, Sunday, 4:30 p.m. ET on FOX
This game is chocked full of Boston College alumni, with B.J. Raji and Robert Francois of the Pack facing off against the New York Football Giants' Mark Herzlich, Chris Snee, Mathias Kiwanuka and Will Blackmon. Not to mention Tom Coughlin, quite a few members of the Mara family and Jack Bicknell Jr.
Though Raji's dance moves may sway those of you on the fence over to rooting for the 'Pack, the lean here is still New York.
Raji, drop it.
