Boston College Men's Soccer Wins The Week

The last time we checked in with the Boston College men's soccer team, they were coming off a 3-2 victory over George Mason in the season opener. Over the past week, the Eagles have rattled off three wins, including a 2-1 win over Fairfield, a decisive 5-0 victory over Quinnipiac and 2-0 victory over 22nd ranked Dartmouth in Hanover.

Senior Amit Aburmad capped a big week with a goal and an assist in the victory over Dartmouth and finished with a team high five points (3 goals, 2 assists). Junior midfielder Kyle Bekker (2 goals, 1 assist) and junior forward Charlie Rugg (1 goal, 2 assists) both finished the week with three points for BC. Ryan Dunn, Diego Medina-Mende, Stefan Carter and Patrick Chin each added a point over the week.

Junior goalkeeper Justin Luthy stopped 11 shots, allowing just 1 goal and recording his first clean sheet of the season in the 2-0 win at Dartmouth.

The men's team jumped from 25th to 16th in the latest NSCAA National Rankings after its season opening W over George Mason and will likely climb even higher in this week's poll (released Tuesday).

Boston College (4-0-0) opens up ACC play this weekend with a huge tilt in College Park against No. 4 Maryland. The game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. at the Terps' Ludwig Field. The 3-0-0 Terrapins have opening season victories over St. Johns (3-0), West Virginia (3-1) and Stanford (4-0). You can follow Friday's BC-Maryland game using BCEagles.com's GameTracker.
