Boston College Opens As A 1.5 Point Favorite Over Wake Forest

Big news for all of you degenerate gamblers out there. Vegas released the odds for this weekend's Boston College-Wake Forest game and it is basically a pick 'em. Evidently the book makers think that BC's win over FCS opponent UMass should give them a slight edge over the 2-1 Wake Forest Demon Deacons

Wake Forest, on the other hand, hasn't played a good opponent yet so it's hard to get a read on what they will really be like. The Deacons are coming off wins over N.C. State and Gardner Webb and a loss against Syracuse (who barely beat Toledo this weekend). BC has a porous passing defense (240 YPG). Will that be bad news against a WF passing offense that average 326 yards a game?

Call it the BC homer in me, but I like BC next weekend. It is Parents' Weekend, the stadium will filled and maybe ... just maybe ... Spaziani can build off of this weekend's win. With another week of practice under his belt, Montel Harris will hopefully feel more comfortable with the offense, and BC will control the clock and keep Tanner Price on the sidelines. Then again, I'm not much of a gambler so take that with a grain of salt.

Other Vegas odds of note include:

Georgia Tech (-6) vs N.C. State
Virginia Tech (-7) vs. Clemson
North Carolina (-8) vs. East Carolina

Our future ACC brethren ...

Pittsburgh (-3) vs. South Florida
Rutgers vs. Syracuse (+1)

And our 2011 non-conference opponents ...

Illinois vs. Northwestern (+7)
Notre Dame (-14.5) vs. Purdue
