Boston College Moves To Elite Conference ... In Men's And Women's Skiing

Lost in all the conference realignment and expansion rumors and speculation comes news that the Boston College Eagles have been accepted and will be joining the EISA ... in men's and women's skiing

"This is a fantastic move for our program," Head coach Scott MacPherson said. "Moving to the EISA provides both the stability and elite completion we seek for our athletes. It is truly an honor to be able to compete within these ranks."

The skiing Eagles will join these fine collegiate skiing programs in the Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association: Bates College, Bowdoin College, Colby College, Dartmouth College, Middlebury College, St. Lawrence University, St. Michael's College, University of Maine Presque Isle, University of New Hampshire, University of Vermont and Williams College.

I have no idea whether this is a good move for the program or not. To me, it would seem that joining a skiing association whose members are located in places like Burlington, Vermont, Presque Isle, Maine, Middlebury, Vermont and Durham, New Hampshire -- with access to things like snow and mountains -- is an excellent move for a skiing program.

Go alpine Eagles!
