Duke Football Injury Report For Saturday's Game Vs. Boston College

AJB ran you through Boston College's laundry list of injuries for Saturday, but the Eagles aren't the only program coming into this game banged up.

The Blue Devils will be without the services junior running back Desmond Scott, who will miss his second game of the season with a leg injury. Scott, whose listed as "out" for Saturday's game, rushed for 80 yards on 11 carries and a touchdown in the season opener against Richmond before leaving the game after injuring his leg.

Last season, Scott led all Duke running backs rushing for 530 yards on 120 attempts, scoring 3 TDs. Sophomore Juwan Thompson takes over for Scott. Thomson has 129 yards on 29 carries this season.

Scott is joined on this week's injury list by sophomore RB Josh Snead, who is out with a foot injury.

Hurting an already injured-riddled backfield is the loss of backup quarterback Brandon Connette, who's also listed as "out" with an upperbody injury. Connette has been called on to carry the ball from time to time and finished last season with 321 yards rushing and 8 TDs, though was fairly ineffective in Duke's game against BC (5 rushes, -8 yards). The Scott-Connette-Snead combo rushed for a combined 1,072 yards last season, good for 81 percent of the Blue Devils' total rushing output.

Duke's kicker Will Snyderwine is listed as "questionable" for Saturday. The Lou Groza Award preseason watch list candidate is 0-4 in field goal attempts this season and is battling a foot injury.

Rounding out this week's Duke injury report is S Jordon Byas (foot), who is listed as probable, and C Brian Moore, who is out with an arm injury.
