This season is becoming unbearable with more and more bad news pouring in every day. Boston College announced today that Offensive Coordinator Kevin Rogers is taking an indefinite leave of absence:
Boston College Eagles first-year offensive coordinator Kevin Rogers has asked for a leave of absence for health reasons and will be out indefinitely, the school announced on Monday.
Tight ends coach Dave Brock has been named acting offensive coordinator and will coach the quarterbacks. Graduate assistant Ben Johnson will be elevated to tight ends coach on an interim basis.
Don't even want to speculate what is going on with Rogers, and best wishes for speedy recovery. But as a BC fan this is just another devastating blow to a team that has struggled mightily on offense this year. I was really looking forward to see what Kevin Rogers could have done with Chase Rettig, but of course his health is of the utmost importance. Get well soon Coach Rogers, BC fans will keep you in their thoughts.
Dave Brock does have experience running an offense, as he was the offensive coordinator for Hofstra, Temple and most recently Kansas State in 2008. There he helped Josh Freeman become the most prolific QB in the school's history. How will he help our young QB, that remains to be seen. He also has a great track record of grooming wide receivers such as Hakeem Nicks with UNC, and Jordy Nelson at Kansas State. Maybe with some time he could do good things with BC's receiving corp.
The bad news continue to pour in for the Eagles, will this be the straw that finally breaks the camels back?
