Kudos to the administrations at Boston College and Boston University as well as the ACC and Hockey East schedule makers for recognizing a good thing and giving us more of it.

The annual Boston College-Boston University Hockey East regular season home-and-home series typically occurs on the first weekend of December each season. Well this year you can add Boston College vs. Boston University men's hoops to the rivalry weekend, giving Superfans and those unfortunate Terriers fans even more reason to hate. The BC and BU men's ice hockey and hoops programs will face each other three times in the span of 24 hours on December 2-3.

Here's your weekend itinerary:

Friday, December 2, 2011
7 PM:  Boston College vs. Boston University hockey (Conte Forum)

Saturday, December 3, 2011
2 PM:  Boston College vs. Boston University hoops (Conte Forum)*
5 PM:  MBTA Green B Line Boston College stop-St. Paul stop*
7 PM:  Boston College at Boston University hockey (Agganis Arena)*
10 PM: MBTA Green B Line St. Paul stop-Chestnut Hill Ave. stop*
10:45 PM:  Celebratory drinks at your favorite Cleveland Circle watering hole after the Eagles earn a weekend sweep over the dropkick dogs*

This season, the BC-BU hardwood rivalry takes on even more meaning, as Steve Donahue and the Eagles will face first year BU coach Joe Jones, who was hired away from Donahue's staff back in June.

And in case you have forgotten and need to remind your Boston U. coworkers, the Eagles hockey team is currently riding a five-game win streak over the Terriers, including a win in last year's Beanpot semifinal. In addition, BC hoops has won eight straight over BU, a streak that dates back nearly 40 years (BU last beat the Eagles in 1973). Now armed with this knowledge, please go forth and heckle any and all BU fans for such basketball and hockey futility. #Sucks2BU
