Daaaammmmnnn! 5.8 on the Richter scale? Thanks, Boston College's Weston Observatory ...
Weston Observatory among those feeling earthquake tremors in region (The MetroWest Daily News)
Rumblings from the earthquake that rattled the Eastern Seaboard yesterday were felt throughout the region, according to multiple reports. Based in Virginia, the 5.8-magnitude earthquake occurred at 1:51 p.m., said Anastasia Moulis, a seismologist at Boston College's Weston Observatory.
Andy Gallik flair on Eagles O-line (BostonHerald.com)
"I’m pretty excited about it," said the 6-foot-3, 284-pound Gallik. "It’s not something that I really anticipated this season. But I worked hard over the summer so that if I did get a shot, my hard work would pay off and it would be as if the line didn’t miss a beat and they could put me in there. But it’s not something I could have predicted."
Backfield in motion - on defensive side (The Boston Globe)
He is part of the puzzle, and perhaps - sometime in the future - one of the key pieces. That, says Boston College football coach Frank Spaziani, is one of the good things about his defensive backfield. It is also one of the bad things, because Al Louis-Jean, who is in the mix at cornerback, is a true freshman whose learning curve has not climbed very much.
Eagles' defensive line ready for a rebuilding year (The Taunton Gazette)
"Coach (Jeff Commisiong), our defensive line coach, put on film of those guys from last year’s defense and their effort to the ball - we saw film of Damik, Albright, Newman, and even older guys - and he was showing us what it takes and that we’re part of a BC defensive line tradition and we should be proud to be in that meeting room and we have to continue the legacy," said junior defensive end Max Hollway, who started five games when Albright suffered a broken leg last fall.
Former Don Bosco star Brian Toal waived by Jets (NorthJersey.com)
When fullback Brian Toal arrived at the Jets’ complex Tuesday morning, the former Don Bosco star was told he had been waived. He said later in a phone interview that he was "surprised" by the move, but added, "I’m thankful for the opportunity the Jets gave me. They’re a great organization and I was very happy to be there. Hopefully, I can end up somewhere else."
But Where Was Mamula? I Think I Found Him (The 700 Level)
The phrase is also incredibly versatile. It can be angry, sarcastic, forlorn, or exclamatory. The defensive line is getting destroyed in the run game? BUT WHERE WAS MAMULA? The front four is getting zero pressure on the quarterback? BUT WHERE WAS MAMULA? Andy Reid burns a timeout because the defense only had ten men on the field? BUT WHERE WAS MAMULA? See? How cathartic is that? I’ve never felt so good asking a rhetorical question. The satisfying part of the question is that there is no answer. Quite simply, Mamula’s whereabouts are best left unknown.
