Part of Fashion week (?) ...
On Tuesday, the Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC) announced its annual list of top-selling universities and manufacturers. The below rankings capture royalties reported July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011 on all college merchandise sold on behalf of CLC-represented institutions.
Boston College merchandise sales ranked 53th out of the Top 75 CLC-affiliated universities, behind the eight other ACC schools affiliated with the CLC but ahead of the State University of New Jersey (54), South Florida (56), Georgetown (58), sleeping Big East giant the Central Florida Hurricane-Knights (62), Villanova (67) and Northwestern (68).
The University of North Carolina outpaced the eight other ACC CLC-affiliated schools, finishing in the top 10 at number 8. Florida State (22), Clemson (24), Miami (27), Duke (31), Maryland (42), Virginia (44) and Georgia Tech (46) were the other ACC that made the list. Coming as no surprise, six of the top 10 collegiate merchandise properties were members of the Southeastern Conference.
Hopefully the newly inked Old Navy deal will help BC improve in the rankings next season. While we are at it, as a humble suggestion, maybe we could stop manufacturing these (do not look directly into the angry chicken's eyes!).
