This year's undrafted class, including locals such as Delaware quarterback Pat Devlin, from Exton, and Boston College linebacker Mark Herzlich, from Wayne, won't have that benefit. "Losing the spring was really crippling for their opportunity to make a team for the fall," said agent Jerrold Colton, speaking of undrafted free agents in general.

Six Football Series We'd Like to See Big East Schools Start or Renew (Big East Coast Bias)
Another matchup teams that were once Big East brethren, but whose series predates Big East football, Boston College and Syracuse are just 5.5 hours apart and previously met every year from 1961 to 2004. Much like UConn and Maryland, we like the series because it offers a chance to see quality Northeast programs play in meaningful non-conference games that the region can get excited about. Syracuse fans have clamored to get BC back on the schedule and have been thrilled to have the two games series that ends after this season. Here's hoping that one of the old Big East's longest standing series' gets renewed.

He’s led the Eagles to two straight winning seasons and bowl berths, but is still looking for the bowl win and division title. The scholarship numbers have improved through recruiting and so has the depth, but overall, they’re still not quite where they want or need to be yet.

The ACC had four coaches -- Swinney, Georgia Tech's Paul Johnson (tied for fourth, 980), Boston College's Frank Spaziani (seventh, 979) and Duke's David Cutcliffe (eighth, 976) -- ranked among the nation's top eight and five of the top 13. Not surprisingly, the ACC's coaches easily had the highest average (961.7) among the 11 FBS conferences.

He's got so many things going for him, and two major strikes against him: He's a defender and he plays for a program that's under the national radar. He's a unanimous All-American, though, and he is the real deal. Montel Harris has been the heart of BC's offense during his time there, but Kuechly is the best player on the team.
