Women's Lacrosse Earns NCAA Tournament At-Large Berth

New, 1 comment

Congratulations to the Boston College women's lacrosse team, who earned an at-large berth to this year's NCAA Tournament. It's the first ever tournament berth for the BC women.

The 12-6 Eagles will face the second-seeded Northwestern Wildcats on Saturday, May 14 at 4 PM. The Wildcats will be a tough challenge for the Eagles. Before Maryland won last year's title, Northwestern had dominated the sport, winning five straight NCAA titles from 2005-2009.

The Eagles and Wildcats have met just one time previously, an 8-1 win for BC way back in 1992 (which was the first year for varsity women's lacrosse).

BC will be making its first ever tournament appearance along with Florida and Albany. Fellow ACC team Maryland will be making a field best 27th appearance to the NCAA Tournament.

Full bracket below. Go Eagles!

No. 16 Navy (15-5) at No. 1 Maryland (18-2)
