According to a report last week in the Roanoke Times, Steve Donahue added University of the Pacific transfer sophomore guard Allen Huddleston to the roster:
"Allen Huddleston, second-leading scorer for University of the Pacific, is transferring to Boston College. Huddleston, who had 59 3-point field goals for a 16-15 Pacific squad, joins a BC recruiting class that includes four players from California."
Huddleston was UOP's (ed. note -- remember these guys?) second leading scorer last season, averaging 11.1 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists during his sophomore season. More importantly, Huddleston shot nearly 40 percent from beyond the arc, connecting on 59 of 149 attempts from three. His three-point shooting percentage improved over 11 percent from his freshman season, where Huddleston shot just 28.4 percent.
This looked like a pretty solid get for Donahue. That is, until Huddleston himself shot down the rumor via Twitter, of all things:
"TO MY FOLLOWERS THAT THINK I'M TRANSFERRING TO BOSTON COLLEGE, I'M NOT! I HAVE NOT DECIDED YET.Thanks."
Gotta love technology.
If Huddleston does joins the Eagles, he will have to sit out the 2011-12 season before he can join the team for the 2012-13 season. He'll have two years of eligibility remaining.
