Boston College Hockey: York Adds Linell, Begert To Incoming Recruiting Class

New, 1 comment

According to a report from U.S. Hockey Report ($), Harvard commit Danny Linell will play for York and the Eagles this fall, after he was waitlisted from the university. After learning he was waitlisted, Linell contacted Boston University, Michigan and BC before choosing to play at the Heights.

Along with Linell, York also received a commitment from 5-11 defenseman Mark Begert who is currently playing with the Coquitlam Express of the BCHL. Begert joins fellow Coquitlam Express teammate Destry Straight, who was ranked #100 among all North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting.

BC was short on bodies with the departures of Cam Atkinson, Jimmy Hayes and Philip Samuelsson, so Linell, Begert and Straight should get an opportunity to contribute right away.

After the jump, a look at the BC hockey roster over the next four years. With players graduating and others jumping to the pros early, by my count, York still has 1-2 more roster spots to fill next season. As college hockey recruiting info is really hard to come by, keep me honest with any additions / corrections in the comments section.
