Boston College News and Notes
CC takes on storied hockey program in first round (Colorado Springs Gazette)
"We look at it as one trophy at a time," BC captain Joe Whitney told ESPNBoston.com. "Two weeks ago, it was the regular-season championship, and this week it was the Lamoriello Cup (league playoffs champ). We'll be ready to go (this) weekend."
BC hockey takes new route toward NCAA title (ESPNBoston.com)
"If I can use a golf analogy, during the season we play difficult courses," said York. "We've been out to play two of the NCAA participants, two games at Denver and a game at Notre Dame. So we try to make the course as difficult as we can during the year, and now we get to the nationals, and they tell us, 'OK, Jerry, move to the back, back tees,' and we play a little more difficult schedule from here. We anticipate that. Every year, teams ramp up when you get to these Regionals."
BC Hockey OK with Heading West, Ready To Defend National Title (WEEI)
Making the NCAAs is old hat for the Eagles (12 of the last 14 seasons). Playing in the West Regional is something a little more unfamiliar.
West region semifinals: (1) Boston College vs. (4) Colorado College (Soaring To Glory)
"On paper, there is not much doubt as to which one of these teams is better. Colorado College has had a good year, but Boston College is one of the most complete teams you will find anywhere in Division I hockey. The Tigers do a few things well, whereas the Eagles do everything well. There are no bad teams in this tournament, so a BC loss could be forgivable, but it seems clear that the Eagles will have a good chance at moving on to the regional final."
Pat Mullane's been face of the Eagles (Boston Herald)
Profile on Mullane. "He's the most improved player on the club to pick going from Point A to Point B," said BC coach Jerry York. "He's become a real difference-maker."
Eagle eyes: Gibbons's vision encompassing (Boston Globe)
"I think I owe most of my success and scoring ability to him," Atkinson said. "I just drive hard and have my stick on the ice. It doesn't matter where I am on the ice, he just seems to find me. He has some of the best vision I've ever seen in any player. I've been fortunate to be part of it."
BC's Patrick Wey healthy this time (Boston Herald)
This year Wey won't be a spectator.

Colorado College News and Notes
CC Wary of Falling Short (College Hockey News)
"Power plays typically mean good things for Colorado College." Except, of course, when you go up against the BC penalty kill.
CC confident about chance at upsetting Boston College (Colorado Springs Gazette)
Bulletin board material, care of CC senior Tyler Johnson. "We went toe-to-toe with North Dakota and that game could have gone either way. We're playing good hockey right now so we know we can take BC. We can beat anyone."
RAMSEY: CC has great chance to topple champs (Colorado Springs Gazette)
"Tigers peaking at right time." Don't know about you, but 5-4-1 in your last 10 isn't peaking back East. 8-1-1 in your last 10 is.
Run-and-gun Colorado eerily similar to BC (Boston Herald)

West Regional Previews
NCAA Tournament: West Region Preview (Inside College Hockey)
All he does is win. "No one ever talks about John Muse, Ever. Oh, his statistics are terrific-a 2.13 goals against average and a .926 save percentage this season. But the Boston College goalie is college hockey's Joe Montana-when the postseason rolls around, all he does is win. Muse enters the West Regional with a 21-1 career playoff record and an 8-0 mark in NCAA Tournament play."
West Regional Preview (College Hockey News)
""From what we know about Colorado College from watching tape, they're a real skating team," Eagles coach Jerry York said. "They're very quick and Joe Howe has had an outstanding year for them in goal."
West Regional preview: A who's who of coaches (USCHO)
"Between Boston College's Jerry York, Michigan's Red Berenson, Nebraska-Omaha's Dean Blais and Colorado College's Scott Owens, there are 2,188 victories and eight national championships."
My NCAA Tournament Picks - West Regional (The College Hockey Blog)
fetch has BC advancing to St. Paul, but falling to Denver in the Frozen Four. West coast bias.
