Boston College Near Top Of Latest Director's Cup Standings

Amazing, but true. Boston College ranks in the top 10 of the latest fall Division I Learfield Sports Director's Cup standings.

Thanks to NCAA tournament appearances from both the Boston College men's and women's soccer teams, as well as a 12th-place finish by the women's cross country team, the Eagles athletics programs are currently ranked 9th in the latest Director's Cup standings.

Boston College has 168 total points in the standings, ranking behind Stanford (260 points), North Carolina (254), Maryland (228), Florida State (217), U.C.L.A. (203), Duke (200), Oklahoma State (177) and Penn State (175).

The ACC has five institutions in the top 10 - North Carolina (2nd), Maryland (3rd), Florida State (4th), Duke (6th) and BC (9th). A-C-C! A-C-C!

The next round of standings will be released next Thursday. However, with both the women's volleyball team and football program done for the season, the Eagles are sure to drop further down the rankings when the next round of Director's Cup Standings are released. In other words, enjoy the top 10 finish now. It's only going to get (much) worse from here on out.

Last year, BC finished the fall season ranked 29th (169 points), 46th after the winter season (297) and 64th overall (322).
