Boston College Daily Links: E.J. Manuel's Impact On Florida State

Another QB threat in store for BC (BostonHerald.com)
"The difference with him is he has that elite size with speed and athleticism. There are guys that can run that are 6 feet and 200 pounds, but E.J. Manuel is a big kid who can move. The thing with him is this guy can control the offense. Some guys are exceptional athletes, but they don’t have control of the offense. This guy knows what he wants to do, he spreads the ball around pretty well and he’s a challenge. He’s one of those guys you have to account for all the time."

(On how the quarterback can impact defensive and special teams players, too) Well let me ask you this. Has Indianapolis ever been last in the league in defense before? Now they can’t stop anybody. When you pull that guy away, what it means in the thought process of how you look at things and your whole … When the figure-head of your organization is down, it makes everybody stressful and unsure about how things are going to happen.

“He’s able to make plays when it seems as though the play is being shut down so he’s able to buy time and get the ball downfield and things of that sort,” said FSU cornerback Mike Harris. “He definitely does bring a new life to this team.”

With no margin for error, BC welcomes FSU (The Boston Globe)
"They look like the old Florida State,’’ said former BC coach Tom O’Brien, who watched the Seminoles take apart his North Carolina State team, 34-0, last week. "They’re back or close to being back to what they were when they were in the national championship race every year.’’

"It’s been different, I actually like it, I felt like it was maybe I just wasn’t as sore after [the N.C. State] game, but I kind of like the Sundays getting out there and going through some stuff," said junior quarterback EJ Manuel. "But we’re not worried about [the short week] at all. ... Five days, three, four, it doesn’t’ matter as long as we go out and get a chance to play."

Florida State at Boston College NFL Draft watch notes (Mocking The Draft)
For Boston College's Luke Kuechly, that piece of his puzzle is probably larger than most. Kuechly leads the nation in tackles with 130 tackles in eight games. Without watching every second of every BC game, it's impossible to know how Kuechly got all those tackles. But  what they show is his determination, hustle and, simply, a strong ability to tackle.

Duggan following the right path at BC (The Milford Daily News)
"I kind of thought I would redshirt," said Duggan, "but you never know what can happen throughout the season. People get hurt, things change. I just took it one day at time ... to try and get better every single day."

Just an utterly hopeless offensive performance from the Wolfpack ... or an incredibly dominant defensive performance from FSU. Or both.

Rich from Chantrant is the latest guest blogger to tackle my questions. The 'Noles have had an up and down season but look to be righting the ship coming into our game. See what Rich thinks of this unusual season in his answers below.

Draft:11-3: Keys to the game vs. Florida State (BCDraft)
Well it is that time again, game time, as the Eagles come off of their first ACC win, they have a tough test at home on a short time of rest against the Seminoles of Florida State. As this is the first game that is on prime time, the Eagles will try to have their best game forward for the nation to see.

Swagger Poll 7even (From The Rumble Seat)
BC finally receives a little love after winning their first ACC tilt of the season. Good job BC! Albeit, they still received less swag than the Terrapins whom they defeated.
