Dashing through college football's psychological problems (ESPN)
In Spaziani's first year as head coach, the Eagles averaged 24.8 points per game and went 8-5. Last year the scoring dipped to 18.5 points and the record to 7-6. This year BC is 1-4 and averaging 20.6 points -- but just 14.5 against FBS competition. And after playing four at home in the first five, the next three are on the road.
Musical chairs for ACC hot seats (ESPN ACC Blog)
Spaziani is currently 17-15 in his third season with the Eagles. He inherited significant recruiting problems, especially at quarterback, and staff turnover has been a legitimate problem, as there have been three different head coaches in a span of five years. Spaziani is still looking for his first bowl win, but this year, just getting to the postseason seems to be an unreachable task.
SPAZZING NOW #5 ON THE COACHESHOTSEAT.COM (Heights and Lows)

Second Thoughts On The ACC Weekend (ACC Sports Journal)
Originally it was thought that moving from a private school in the Northeast to a big state school in the South would expand O’Brien’s recruiting base. Given what he did at BC with a limited talent pool, imagine what he could do down at N.C. State! At least, that was the theory. Instead, TOB no longer gets the type of players he once got at BC – State could never get Luke Kuechly to show much interest, for example – and for the most part he’s labored in the recruiting shadow of UNC.

Coach Dabo Swinney says his unbeaten Clemson Tigers have not yet peaked (The Post and Courier)
"We're still a work in progress," Swinney said. "I feel like the secondary is really growing up. We've only given up one touchdown in the second half this year, and that just shows we are getting better as we go."

"We'll watch a highlight film at the end of year, sit around eating cookies and milk together and say, 'Wow, good year,'" Morris said. "Right now, we've got to worry about winning games and Boston College is a big opponent."
