The accolades keep rolling in for Boston College LB Luke Kuechly. In addition to being named one of 20 quarterfinalists for the Lott IMPACT Trophy, Kuechly was also named one of 12 semifinalists for the 42nd Rotary Lombardi Award honoring the nation's top lineman or linebacker.
The other 11 semifinalists include: Vinny Curry (defensive end, Marshall), David DeCastro (offensive guard, Stanford), Don'ta Hightower (linebacker, Alabama), Melvin Ingram (defensive end, South Carolina), Barrett Jones (offensive line, Alabama), Matt Kalil (offensive tackle, Southern California), Jonathan Martin (offensive tackle, Stanford), Whitney Mercilus (defensive line, Illinois), Manti Te'o (linebacker, Notre Dame), Courtney Upshaw (linebacker, Alabama) and Jerel Worthy (defensive tackle, Michigan State).
The winner will be announced on December 7 at the Reliant Center in Houston.
BC's All-American leads the nation in both tackles (130) and tackles per game (16.25), and is still on pace to break the single-season tackle record set by Texas Tech's Lawrence Flugence in 1993 (193).
