Day four of Boston College's camp is in the books. Other than the fact that Herzlich didn't practice for the fourth straight day, no real news came out of camp today. As Spaz said, the real football starts tomorrow:
The Boston College football team practiced on Shea Field for the fourth day, this time in cooler weather reminiscent of early-fall football games. The Eagles were still in Under Armour shells and shorts, continuing to fine tune the offensive and defensive teams.
Though the fourth day of camp featured more hitting, the real contact will come tomorrow when the team will dress in full pads for the first time. Head Coach Frank Spaziani joked with media yesterday, telling them that "real football" begins Friday.
By now the players appear accustomed to the way camp is run. When the horn sounds periodically, players run across the field in organized chaos to the next station. There was plenty of excited chatter as each player made his way through the drills.
Once again, senior LB Mark Herzlich did not practice but was on the sidelines watching his teammates.
Like I said, no real news and not a whole lot to go on here. Blauds is reporting that Herzlich has undergone multiple MRIs for his undiagnosed right foot injury. Herzlich continues to say that he is pain-free and the injury is unrelated to his cancer treatment.
Today's Blaudshun feature article is on Luke Kuechly. One of the highlights of his phenomenal freshman year was when he stuffed Maryland QB Jamarr Robinson on fourth and inches in the fourth quarter of BC's 19-17 win over the Terrapins.
Blauds is also reporting that both Ramsey and Scafe are still not in camp, though at least one BC Tweeter confirmed yesterday's Tweet from The Heights that Ramsey has, in fact, returned to the team. Conroy sat down with Anthony Castonzo and focused on football and his Rhodes Scholarship application. DE Brad Newman was profiled in his local newspaper.
Tomorrow, Spaz and a few players will participate in Media Day before practicing later in the afternoon. The Eagles' first double session -- practice and then their first scrimmage -- is on Saturday.
