Yesterday, Jeff Goodman from Fox Sports took a bit of the fun out of the announcement of the 2010 ACC-Big Ten Challenge matchups, leaking some of the marquee matchups. Those marquee matchups included Michigan State at Duke, Purdue at Virginia Tech, Ohio State at Florida State, North Carolina at Illinois and N.C. State at Wisconsin.
Today, the Boston Herald is reporting that the Eagles will play the Indiana Hoosiers as part of the ACC-Big Ten Challenge.
Just a quick bit of info to pass along: Boston College will host Indiana on Wednesday Dec. 1 in next season’s ACC-Big Ten Challenge, according to a source.
Since there seems to be no rhyme or reason to these pairings, BC, a team that finished 8th in the ACC regular season standings last year, takes on the Big Ten's tenth place team. Last season, Indiana went 10-21 overall and 4-14 in the Big Ten. The Hoosiers season ended unceremoniously at the hands of the Northwestern Wildcats, a 73-58 drubbing in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament.
The Hoosiers do return all top five of their scorers from last season, and are led by junior guard Verdell Jones III (14.9 PPG).
BC is 2-1 all-time against Indiana. BC and IU last met in the first round of the 1996 NCAA Tournament, a 64-51 victory by the #11 seeded Eagles over the #6 seeded Hoosiers.
