You are hearing more and more statements like "it's hard to win on the road in the ACC." On the surface, that statement seems to make sense, but just how pronounced is home court advantage in the ACC this season?
Here is a look at the home/road split of ACC wins and losses. The trend isn't surprising. What is surprising is the magnitude of the home court advantage. Road teams are a paltry 22-56 (.286). Contrast that with home teams record of 55-22 (.714).
The biggest offender on the road is Miami, who are the proud owners of an 0-7 mark with one road game to go. At home, Maryland leads the way with a 7-0 home record while three other programs check in with 6-0 records (Duke, Wake Forest and Virginia Tech).
